Symbio City is a commissioned masterplan envisioned by Kunkun Visual, created as an exploration of how cultural symbolism can shape future-ready urban development. Rooted in the blooming geometry of the parepat flower, this project reinterprets tradition as the foundation for a modern port city in Malaysia — one that integrates residential districts, a thriving CBD, and seamless waterfront connectivity.
Developed for a government-level presentation, Symbio City reflects our commitment to elevating architectural storytelling by merging design clarity with narrative purpose. It stands as a testament to how masterplanning can be both strategic and soulful — a blend of rational structure and cultural meaning.

Story
Symbio City is a future port-city development designed by Urban Scale, using the radial structure of the parepat flower as its masterplanning framework. The concept organizes the city into functional petals — a high-capacity port, integrated logistics corridors, residential districts, and a central business hub.
Each zone is connected through an efficient mobility spine, ensuring seamless movement between industry, living areas, and the CBD. The layout prioritizes infrastructure clarity, land-use efficiency, and long-term scalability.
Symbio City embodies a culturally rooted yet highly technical vision for Malaysia’s next-generation waterfront development.
Process and Solutions
Symbio City is the result of a deeply collaborative visualization process. The project began with preliminary sketches and schematic massing provided by Urban Scale, the urban design team behind the masterplan. From these early outlines, our role was to translate conceptual diagrams into a coherent visual language suitable for government and investor presentations.
We worked closely with the urban designers at every stage. Every revision of the schematic design required us to rebuild and re-contextualize the 3D environment, ensuring the visuals remained accurate to the evolving masterplan.
The parepat flower concept emerged during our design discussions, guiding the spatial arrangement and becoming the structural motif for the city’s form. Once the framework was agreed upon, we developed the full 3D city model and built key architectural elements to communicate the ambition of a future port city.
From a set of sketches, Symbio City was shaped into a complete animation — a visual narrative that connects masterplanning intent with a clear, engaging presentation for decision-makers.
